Programmable DC power supply series delivers 5 kW output

With a maximum output power of 5 kW in a 1U-19-inch rack-mount housing, the first member of the new generation of TDK Lambda's successful laboratory power supply family GENESYS+™ sets new standards in the power supply market. The new series delivers the highest power density currently available on the market in a 1U-19-inch rack weighing less than 7.5 kg.
Utilising DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology, these next-generation units provide improved efficiency, performance and functionality over existing products available on the market at a competitive cost.
The GENESYS+™ series addresses a very broad market, including component, aerospace and automotive testing, semiconductor fabrication, water treatment, plating and solar array simulation. Housed in a 1U high, 19-inch wide rack package, the 19-inch racks (483 mm wide) offer five different nominal output voltage ranges from 0-10 V/500 A, 0-20 V/250 A, 0-30 V/170 A, 0-300 V/17 A and 0-600 V/8.5 A. They can accept three-phase 170 to 265 Vac, 342 to 460 Vac or wide range 342 to 528 Vac inputs, with active Power Factor Correction.

Doubled power density

The GENESYS+™ laboratory power supplies can be operated in either constant current or constant voltage or constant power mode, which is based on a simulation of an internal resistor. Active power factor correction (PFC) helps to increase efficiency by up to 92 percent. In addition, the power density has doubled by 5 kW compared to the previous GENESYS+™ model.
