Innovative DIN rail power supply units for maximum efficiency
Features of RECOM's RACPRO1 Family
DIN-rail power supplies such as the RACPRO1 family offer many advantages for industrial applications but also present the user with a few challenges. The German Institute for Standardization (Deutsches Institut für Normung, DIN) is the official national standards body representing Germany internationally.
The DIN includes numerous standards, including the DIN rail standard for mounting power supplies and related devices (circuit breakers, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, data network components, programmable logic controllers, etc.). The DIN rail, introduced in the 1920s, was designed to standardize the mounting of switchgear and facilitate the exchange of components between different manufacturers.

Podcast: Why the RACPRO1 Series Stands Out
DIN rail mounting has revolutionized control cabinets for industrial applications. It was so effective that it quickly spread throughout Europe and the rest of the world, eventually becoming the IEC/EN 60715 standard.
Features and Applications of DIN Rail Power Supplies
Power supplies designed for mounting on a DIN rail require special features that distinguish them from standard industrial devices. They usually work in continuous operation mode, even when a production line is shut down, which means that they must have a long operating life. They also require high efficiency – both under load and when idling – to save energy and minimize internal heat emission. Another important feature is the industrial-strength protection against undervoltage and overvoltage fluctuations, power surges, short circuits, overloads, and excess temperatures.
Designed for the industrial environment
In response to the demands of the most challenging industrial applications –
including automation and control systems, industrial robotics, and machine tool and
CNC systems – we have introduced our RACPRO1 family of DIN rail power supplies.
The models RACPRO1-T240, -T480, and -T960 deliver 240, 480, and 960 watts respectively.
With their innovative and unmistakable ergonomic design, the maintenance-free push-in terminals,
which can be operated without tools, are mounted at an angle of 25 degree.
The DIN rail clamp design allows the devices to be mounted and dismounted without tools.
Ergonomic Design and Tool-Free Installation
The power supplies of the RACPRO1-T240, -T480, and -T960 series have a universal AC and DC
input voltage range of 3 x 320 V AC to 3 x 575 V AC and 430 V DC to 850 V DC in the 240 W, 480 W,
and 960 W power classes.
The -T240 series also supports two-phase operation from 2 x 350 V AC to 2 x 575 V AC,
ensuring continuous operation without power reduction even if one phase fails.
An under-voltage lockout (UVLO) in conjunction with a turn-on hysteresis prevents the uncontrolled switching on of the power supply in the event of a brownout or when using a fluctuating grid.
