For this purpose, the IPC must be equipped for all I/O signals and, depending on the task, for a wide
variety of interfaces and environmental conditions, for which commercial standard PCs are unsuitable.
In order to make the IPC as inexpensive as possible, MASS offers numerous individually usable expansion
modules for its solution with the Raspberry Pi processor, e. g. several digital I/O variants; analog IN/OUT,
0-10 V or 4-20 mA inputs/outputs; an RTC (real-time clock), plus the CAN interfaces; I²C; RS232 or RS485 as
well as WIFI, Bluetooth or RFID module for wireless production data collection.
Add-on boards for
almost every application
A small / larger PLC control with the touch displays RPi-07" or RPi-10" and the additional PLC boards
PiXtend v2-s® or PiXtend v2-l® are available,
which digital IN/OUT, PWM-/ Includes servo OUT, relay, analog voltage or current I/Os, RS232, real time
clock and GPIO. The control and display function of the PLC control is already included in this complete
solution.
Many open software modules can be downloaded from the Internet for the free operating system Linux
(Raspbian), which make programming the RPi easier and faster.
It is also possible to use the widespread
software programs Python, CODESYS™ or logi.CAD™ and others. In addition, PLC programming with the Raspberry
Pi 4 is described in the OPEN-PLC project.
Robust housing
The ready-to-run "low-cost" IPC contains a solid metal housing with a built-in industrial power supply (all
common input voltages are available). With protection class IP65/54 (front/rear), 24/7 operation in harsh
industrial environments is guaranteed. "Made in Germany" also ensures that the systems are available for at
least 3-5 years.
As a system integrator, MASS GmbH helps with the use of the components. A VESA mount, a stand or a wall
bracket for the freestanding version, or a bracket for panel mounting can also be supplied.
