Task 6: Establishing the pricing model

Content is the digital product that is to make profit. It can generate direct revenue seeing that the customer pays directly for it.
Content can also mean savings if the product or plant allows for a quicker production, simpler repair process or easier commercialization. Both aspects should be considered when choosing the pricing model. For example, customers could be charged a flat rate pay for using the predictive maintenance service.

Conclusion

The customer expects and uses certain content which, in turn, provides the foundation for doing business in digital ecosystems.
The technology behind these digital platforms is not as important, as long as it carries out the platform’s key features. The industry will only succeed in developing digital products based on data if the needed content is created and used methodically. This also means considering all characteristics that make content “right.”
If the industry uses the experience, methods and findings that are already available, to create, market and manage good content, it is only a matter of time before it excels in the digital age and achieves success – especially financially speaking.
