Compact Edge AI embedded systems for autonomous mobile robots

Designed for use in the smallest of spaces, ICP Germany is launching the NRU-154PoE and the NRU-156U3, two embedded systems with a flattop cooling design. The cooling design enables use in particularly confined spaces, such as in Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) or Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR).

Thanks to the special design, the heat of the embedded system is dissipated to the vehicle housing. Nevertheless, the system is small at 116 x 171 x 27 mm (W x D x H). Inside the embedded system is a Jetson Orin NX System-on-Module (SoM), which is equipped with NVIDIA® Ampere GPU and ARM Cortex CPU. Variants with 8 GB and 16 GB memory are available. The NRU-154PoE has two USB 2.0, one GbE, four 2.5 GbE ports with PoE functionality with 50 Watts power budget, one RS-232 and one RS-485 interface. The NRU-156U3 offers two USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gbps) and four USB 3.2 Gen1 (5 Gbps) instead of the 2.5 GbE PoE ports in addition to the two USB 2.0 interfaces. Both systems also offer an M.2 2242 slot with M Key and PCIe x4 Gen4 signal and a micro-USB port (OTG) and can be operated in a temperature range of -20 °C to 60 °C with 12 VDC. Both are delivered with a pre-installed image with Jetpack 5.1. ds
