Engineering Meets Operations

How the IIoT platform TURCK Automation Suite (TAS) connects the entire machine lifecycle

Anyone who develops, builds, or operates machines is familiar with the problem: many tools, many data sources – but no consistent process. This is exactly where the TURCK Automation Suite (TAS) comes in. It connects engineering and operation into a digital lifecycle that extends from the first test setup to service deployment in the field. With its four modules – Desktop, Cloud, Edge, and Mobile – TAS creates a data and process flow without media breaks, making IIoT tangible in practice.
IIoT & Edge

Multitool for the first steps: TAS Desktop

Anyone who develops or commissions machines knows the effort involved in finding devices, configuring them, and analyzing errors. TAS Desktop bundles these tasks in a central tool. A network scan detects all devices, batch functions deploy firmware or IP addresses to entire device groups, diagnostic reports, IO-Link parameterization, and specialized monitor apps facilitate setup from radar to vibration sensors. Engineering bottlenecks are elegantly mitigated: ARGEE turns block I/O modules into simple controllers, BEEP reduces IP addresses, and CODESYS programs can be distributed centrally in TURCK modules. Series machines, retrofits, or FATs thus benefit from significantly accelerated processes.

Transparency from the cloud – and worldwide service

Once machines are up and running, the focus shifts to operation. With TAS Cloud, the platform becomes an IIoT control center that provides the necessary overview. Dashboards show KPIs, statuses, and trends, while condition monitoring and streaming analyses provide an introduction to predictive maintenance. Critical situations are automatically reported via dashboard, email, or SMS. Secure remote access is particularly valuable: controllers, HMIs, and web interfaces can be accessed directly from the cloud. Role and client management ensure clear access rules, while white labeling ensures consistent brand presence. This makes everything from individual devices to global fleets transparently controllable.

Edge: When data becomes more valuable at the point of origin

A lot of data is generated in production – often too much. TAS Edge transforms it into smart data by collecting information directly at the machine, filtering it, and converting it into formats such as MQTT or OPC UA. This makes it immediately usable for TAS Cloud, IT systems, or analytics. This preprocessing creates clear KPIs, reproducible tests, and paves the way for AI-supported anomaly detection. Since TAS Edge runs on TURCK hardware as well as Windows and Linux servers, it is ideal for brownfield environments.
