5G RedCap Routers from Spectra for Next-Generation Industrial IoT Applications

5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) is establishing itself as a new mobile communication technology specifically tailored to the requirements of modern IoT and M2M applications. While classic 5G was primarily designed for maximum data rates and peak performance, 5G RedCap takes a significantly more practical approach: lower complexity, reduced power consumption, and cost-effective, scalable connectivity for connected devices.

Spectra has added the 5G RedCap series from manufacturer Teltonika to its portfolio. The series offers suitable router solutions for industrial 5G RedCap applications. The routers combine the advantages of modern 5G connectivity with Teltonika’s signature industrial ruggedness and centralized remote management via the Remote Management System (RMS).
The series is specifically designed for professional IoT and M2M applications that require compact form factors, high reliability, and long-term scalability. The 5G RedCap family currently includes the three models RUT271, RUT 276, and RUT976.

RUT271

This compact 5G RedCap router is ideal for cost-effective basic connectivity in smaller networks, distributed IoT systems, or edge applications.

RUT276

This model extends 5G RedCap technology with industrial serial interfaces such as RS232 and RS485, addressing applications in industrial automation, building automation, and energy and utility technology.

RUT976

As the high-end model in the series, the RUT976 offers additional interface and redundancy options for more demanding industrial communication tasks and critical infrastructure projects.
