The Kontron KBox A-251-AML/ADN features a particularly compact design, powerful processors, and high flexibility. With dimensions of only 137 x 50 x 95 mm, the device is particularly suitable for applications where space is limited, without compromising on performance.
At the heart of the PC are the latest generation Intel Atom® x7000RE processors, Intel® N97 or Core™ i3-N305 processors, which are characterized by high energy efficiency and impressive computing power. These processors provide the basis for real-time applications, machine learning, or the processing of large amounts of data. A special feature of this industrial PC is the IO door on the left side of the system, which can be used to offer a variety of additional interfaces.

For example, serial ports or LAN ports, fieldbuses, or even digital IOs can be added as needed and made available to the customer.
On the system front the KBox A-251-AML/ADN has one DisplayPort and two 2.5 GbE interfaces, three USB 3.2 ports (one of which is a USB-C port), and a serial RS232 interface. Via the two internal M.2 expansion slots, the KBox A-251-AML/ADN can be expanded with a wide range of functionalities, for example to integrate SSDs, fieldbuses and LAN ports, as well as wireless technologies such as 4G/5G or Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

Integration into system solutions

The fanless, robust system design guarantees extended service life and high system availability even in harsh industrial environments. The KBox A-251-AML/ADN can be operated in a range from 0 °C to +60 °C, with an optional extended temperature range between -40 °C and +60 °C. As a partner for industrial hardware and software, Kontron offers system solutions such as the Connect IoT Bundle. This consists of the compact KBox A-251-AML/ADN industrial PC and the FabEagle® Connect integration software for industrial interfaces. This makes it possible to purchase hardware with pre-installed software ex works in order to reliably equip small to large series of machines with modern, industry-grade IoT gateways.
