ACTILINK – cost-effective all-in-one servo solution for highly dynamic applications

Dynetics offers various types of rotary and linear motors for industrial applications such as advanced machinery and robotics. These include servo, stepper, brushless, and brushed DC motors, as well as ACTILINK.
The ACTILINK family of integrated servo motors replaces multiple parts and functions on a servo axis. The fully wired and tested drive set consists of a motor, encoder, safety functions, and driver. This shortens the testing phase and enables faster integration compared to conventional systems.
The ACTILINK family is available in five basic models to cover a power range up to 1000 W and a torque up to 3.2 Nm. With the electronics located on the rear of the motor, ACTILINK provides the most compact solution for a fully integrated motor.
The device uses Synapticon's MPD control technology and achieves high efficiency at a maximum motor temperature of less than 140 °C.
ACTILINK has more than 13 safety functions to prevent unwanted movements. These include, for example, the high-resolution, battery-free multiturn function, encoders with integrated power supply and EMC protection, management with a common DC link for maximum efficiency, support for EtherCAT/PROFINET/EtherNet/IP/CAN, an LED ring display for indicating the motor status, and hybrid single-cable technology.

Service-friendly design

Another advantage of the ACTILINK-S family is that the motor and driver are accessible separately for servicing, allowing the defective individual part to be replaced. An external PC can be used as a controller, but ACTILINK can also operate decentrally thanks to the user-friendly Python script code format.

Compact stepper motors
with new neodymium magnets

Nidec (distribution: Dynetics) has reported impressive successes with its hybrid stepper motors. Tests of stepper motors with new neodymium magnets without dysprosium (Dy) and gadolinium (Gd) have been successfully completed. This makes Nidec less dependent on available sources and avoids potential export restrictions.
Thanks to an optimized rotor design, Nidec has also succeeded in manufacturing smaller versions of its stepper motors. Compared to commercially available stepper motors of similar design, the KV42 and KF42 series stepper motors offer significantly higher performance with more compact dimensions. Instead of the previous length of 48 mm, these motors are now only 42 mm long. Motors with a previous length of 42 mm are reduced to 39 mm, and so on. The KF42 even has a higher torque.
Further advantages include higher limiting torque, higher holding torque, high speed, minimal running noise, precision windings, high rigidity, and improved motor dynamics. According to the manufacturer, this gives the KV42 and KF42 series motors the highest power density in their class. The motors are available with plugs or free cable ends. Customized adaptations are possible.
