HEW-KABEL and Habia Cable, previously active in different application areas, have recently formed
a strong alliance. While HEW-KABEL focused on industrial applications such as the
automotive industry, medical technology and robotics, Habia Cable mainly served customers
in the defence, marine, nuclear and telecommunications sectors.
As a result of the merger,
customers now benefit from a broader range of connectivity solutions for more applications
as well as enhanced capabilities and expertise.
„By working in partnership with our customers to develop connectivity solutions for new and demanding
applications, Habia is always at the cutting edge of technology,” says Carl Modigh, CEO of Habia.
Unique selling points in technology and production
With its global technical sales and engineering teams and five specialised production facilities, Habia is able to offer
customised fastening solutions for a wide range of requirements. “If we are involved early
in the design process for a particular fastening problem, we can help the customer find the
best solution in terms of performance and cost,” adds Carl Modigh.
From its own wire drawing, galvanising and stranding lines to its silicone compounding, polymer
extrusion, cross-linking and stranding lines,
Habia has state-of-the-art machinery, some of which was developed in-house.
Thanks to its high-performance production facility in Wipperfürth, Germany, Habia is a world
leader in the manufacture and processing of high-quality extruded and taped PTFE wires, PTFE flat
ribbon cables, silicone-insulated cables, Silindo®-insulated medical cables
and wires, and micro cables. From its production facility in Söderfors,
Sweden, Habia serves demanding customers in the nuclear, aerospace, defence and offshore industries.
The production facility in Szczecin, Poland, supplies state-of-the-art cable harnesses for the
defence and industrial sectors. Habia’s plant in Norderstedt, Germany; focuses on fluoropolymer
wires and cables in small to medium quantities and the subsidiary in China serves the Asian markets
with a wide range of customised wires and cables.
