Customized electrical connection solutions

At electronica WECO presented robust connectors and terminals for industrial, energy and automation projects

Connector technology
WECO Contact GmbH, manufacturer of connection elements for the electronics and electrical engineering sectors, presented its extensive portfolio for industrial electronics and consumer goods at electronica. This year, the focus of the trade fair was on "Tailored Solutions", connection solutions specially tailored to the needs of customers.
In this context, the electronics specialist modifies and optimizes standard products in such a way as to make them easier to use for customers. For example, as part of building modernization projects, the 115-F series connector strips were individually modified so that the contacts are now on the outside. This provided a cost-effective, robust and stable solution for temperature controllers.
The individual component solutions of the Hanau-based electronics specialist are manufactured in various stages: Standard adaptations can include, among other things, individual labelling, different colours of moulded parts, different screw types and coating options (gold, silver, etc.), as well as solder pins with variable lengths.
Light customisations, on the other hand, include using existing components with new parts, special coatings or differently shaped pins.

Special solutions for complex industrial projects

For years, WECO has also stood for individual special solutions. Here, for example, completely new components may be necessary for special customer requirements within the scope of special projects. The experience of the specialists, who operate worldwide, help to pursue completely new approaches, even for small series.
An example of this is the pin header newly developed within the scope of an automotive project for a circuit board of the coming vehicle generations. This board controls the battery thermal management system of electric cars.
For the plug-in area, a special variant with the lowest possible height was developed, in which the pin header can be plugged directly into the other circuit board.
