Fast startup for quick tool changes
The fast startup function (ramp-up time: 450 ms) enables the coupler to be used optimally
in applications with frequent tool changes or production processes with fast cycle times.
The combination of IP65 protection, the maximum transmission distance of 10 mm and the
independence of the transmitted Ethernet protocol makes the NIC an efficient solution
for OEMs and users with changing system requirements. A coupler set consists of a
primary and a secondary part (NICP/NICS-Q86-ETH). Both parts can also be dynamically
coupled with any other primary or secondary parts. Typical areas of application for
the couplers are mobile load carriers, rotary indexing tables, rotating tools or
mobile pick-to-light systems.
Inductive IO-Link couplers with high shock resistance
Turck continues to offer the compact and robust NIC-EM30-IOL coupler with IO-Link COM3
and 230.4 kbit/s for applications in the IO-Link environment and outputs up to 18 watts.
With a startup time of 600 ms, the NIC couplers enable shorter production cycles and thus
increased productivity.
The robust couplers resist high shock loads and transfer 18 W of power via
a 7 mm air interface. As non-contact connectors they are completely wear-free
and, thanks to IP68 protection, permanently sealed. A flexible angle offset up
to 15 degrees and parallel offset up to 5 mm ensure a high level of installation
freedom. The diagnostic function detects the presence of the secondary part as
well as any metal objects in the air gap.
Selective pairing recognizes selected secondary parts
Bidirectional communication enables actuators to be activated, and sensor signals to
be collected. Besides dynamic pairing, by which any primary and secondary parts
can be connected, the couplers also support selective pairing, by which a primary
part can only communicate with selected secondary parts. For this the device can
be accessed directly via IO-Link. Typical applications of the NIC couplers include
interchangeable tools, rotary tables or automated guided vehicles.
