With their rugged zinc die-cast, IP67 housing they are designed for decentralized system architecture outside
the control cabinet. There they act as data compressors and help to reduce the number of network nodes to an
absolute minimum. Use these I/O modules in combination with IO-Link hubs to also conveniently gather the signals
from multiple binary and/or analogue field devices in the field and compress them on to one port. The digital
transmission of data via IO-Link also ensures high signal quality. Configuration and error analysis of the
IO-Link devices now takes place in the controller.

Easy module exchange possible
The network blocks for Ethernet/IP, which communicate directly with the host or local controller, also stand out
with their user friendliness: they feature a display and integrated web server for configuration as well as
display of module information such as IP address, parameters and operating states. An innovative addressing plug
also ensures ease of replacement when needed. As a special feature the user can also record and track data. When
needed the IP addresses can be blocked and protected from unintended changes. This increases security and
simplifies maintenance.
Balluff offers active distributors as versions with 8 x IO-Link ports (16x I/O) or 4 IO-Link ports (8x I/O). The
dimensions are 68 x 37.9 x 220 mm and 37 x 32.6 x 224 mm.
